  • Eminent Engineer, Tau Beta Pi (New York Nu Chapter).

Jeffrey R. Errington

  • Received the James D. Watson Investigator Award. This award is designed to recognize and support outstanding scientists and engineers who, early in their careers, show potential for leadership and scientific discovery in the field of biotechnology. This award carries a $200,000 grant, which Dr. Errington will use for his work on developing methods to preserve biomaterials to impact the design of pharmaceutical drug formulations, as well as other industrially relevant products.

David A. Kofke

  • John M. Prausnitz Award in Applied Chemical Thermodynamics for significant and lasting contributions to the field of applied chemical thermodynamics.   Awarded by the organizing committee of the triennial International Conference on Properties and Phase Equilibria for Product and Process Design (PPEPPD).
  • Named UB Distinguished Professor in recognition of his outstanding record of scholarship and contributions to UB's teaching and public service missions.

Our researchers are examining the role of fluid flows in regulating the structure and function of a blood protein called von Willebrand Factor (vWF). vWF plays a key role in regulating haemostasis and blood coagulation by aiding platelet deposition at sites of vascular injury.
